Bas Jan Ader

The brief but notorious career of Bas Jan Ader was mysteriously concluded when he disappeared at sea in 1975. He produced performances, photographs and films now highly regarded for their perversely humorous and melancholy embrace of the impossible!

Film - Fall II, 1970 This self-orchestrated 'fall' work depicts him on a bicycle taking a sudden but unsurprising tumble into a canal in Amsterdam.
